How to Find IMEI Number of Mobile by Dialling *#06#
The word IMEI is the abbreviation of International Mobile Equipment Identity. It is a unique number that identifies a mobile phone handset. GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) and UMTS (Univeral Mobile Telecommunication Services) network uses
IMEI number to identify the device. Whenever the mobile handset is lost or stolen, the mobile network provider can blacklist or block the lost or stolen mobile handset by using its IMEI number.
Now, how can we find or know the IMEI number of the mobile handset by yourself? There are many ways that you can know the IMEI number of your mobile handset.
Here, we will demonstrate to you a basic method to know IMEI number by dialling *#06# in a Redmi 5A Android mobile handset and that just follow below steps:
Step 1 : Go to Home Screen
Go to Home Screen of mobile handset and click the Dial icon.
Step 2 : Dial *#06#
It prompts the dial pad screen as above image.
Now, type *#06# in the dial pad.
Step 3 : Displays IMEI
Just after typing *#06#, immediately you can see the IMEI number of your mobile handset. In the above image, you can see two IMEIs against IMEI1 and IMEI2 signifying two SIMs (Subscriber Identity Module) slots of Redmi 5A. Note down the IMEI numbers if required.
